I’m Kewal, a cinematographer based between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, India.

My journey started with documentaries; being present, observing the moments before they happen, and being at the right place at the right time to catch the emotion of a shot.

That curiosity for natural light slowly pulled me into street photography in my free time, where I learned to chase shadows and highlights in everyday life. 
One of my earliest projects gave me the chance to walk across India, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. That journey still inspires me today, reminding me why I tell stories through the tool of a camera and the power of narrative.

Working with natural light, shaping it into a scene, and designing lighting setups around whatever space I’m given is something I drive for.
My documentary background helps me adapt quickly on set, finding solutions when things don’t go as planned. I’m a solution‑first person and I love the challenge of fixing problems in the moment.
 

Outside of work, I stay active with racquet sports, marathon running, and even a good game of chess when I want to slow down. 
 

I’m interested in working on commercials, music videos, and branded content. 
 

Currently, I’m working in Mumbai as a Cinematographer and 1st AC. ​
